Prelude Long ago, on a mystical planet named Gaia, a new goddess was born. Daolio was her name, but she soon became known as the Goddess of Equality. Many wars blazed across Gaia between different cultures, races, even the gods warred with each other. At first it seemed that Daolio might have the power to bring all people together. With her powers she could bring an end to all the fighting and bring about an ever-lasting peace. Little did the people of Gaia know just how she planned to end the wars, they did not know the ultimate equality she had in store for the peoples of Gaia. Death . . . Chapter One Our story begins. Many years have passed since Daolio was sealed away. The Great War is but a distant memory. Gaia's peoples have rebuilt. Most have forgotten the child goddess that almost brought an end to all things. Most, but not all. Enter Jade, a green child. She is of a race called Seedlings. Jade is in training with her chieftain and mother, Mayflower. They are soon joined by a not-so-stealthy Cosmos. Little is known of Cosmos; even he does not know his past. The three of them take off to check out an odd intrusion into their woods only to find a human caravan being attacked by Orcs. Mayflower quickly engages in battle with these smelly, though unusually well armed, beast. Meanwhile, far away from these woods, in a humble little cottage, a much different scene takes place. An old, wrinkled, wise goblin rest as his student, Ranik, tends to his chores. This tranquil scene is soon broken by a horrible vision, and the goblin, Horral, fears destiny may be ready to begin its sinister plan. Back in the forest, the Orcs are defeated and Mayflower sends Jade home, with Cosmos as her escort. Jade is to get ready for her upcoming blossoming. After more strange happenings, including Jade's little escape from her room and the discovery of Cosmos's weird library, Jade is taken by her aunt Lilly to prepare for her big event while Mayflower has a few words with Cosmos. What will come of this little chat? Marriage, can it be? And what is this blossoming? What does Fate hold in its shifty hands for Jade and Cosmos? What of Ranik, how does he relate to all of this? The story is only beginning. |
Chapter Two One rainy night, two figures run from an armor clad man and his associates. Fleeing for their lives, they head for the bridge crossing the canyon the spells safety, only to find it destroyed. Their pursuers are soon upon them, and their fate lies at the canyons floor far below. Back in the forest, within the home of the Seedling's Chief, a young girl prepares to become a young lady, and just outside the villagers await this same event. Drinking and dancing and all sorts of merriment fill the air as a great party is held to celebrate this grand day. Elsewhere, in a much darker scene, a hero-in-training is led by his teacher to an unknown destination. Upon arriving, a test of wits begins. But back at the party, all cares have been pushed aside, and two young lovers dance. Now, the time draws near, and young Jade is called away to begin the blossoming. But for Ranik, the challenge is coming to an end. He must use what he has learned to survive, but is it enough? The time of the blossoming has come, and the ritual begins. This ritual takes place behind closed doors, but naughty boy Cosmos must take a peak, whatever the risk. As Jade's body begins to change it quickly becomes too much for her. She awakens to see Cosmos by her side. They share a sweet moment together. And then . . . What will become of the village? Will love survive the flames of battle? Is there method to the old goblin's madness? Destiny is a cruel mistress. |
Chapter Three A battle rages, fire over takes the village, and only a handful of warriors stand before the on coming destruction. Mayflower and Vangrah clash, while elsewhere a caravan travels the woods. A strange and mystic creature is among their cargo, but what fortune will come to them? And what of the drunken guard, Travers, can he be trusted? A fiery young girl, Monnah, seems to be just the type to keep him in check. Meanwhile, the battle continues, and one must fall. Strange powers seem to be afoot. The enemy shows no signs of stopping, until a wounded mage uses a spell. Cosmos holds the fury of Vangrah, as Mayflower, Jade, and Glory retreat. As they flee, Mayflower is struck by an arrow. On the other side of the world, another mage saves a family from a group of thugs. Ranik, student of Horral, is starting to make a name for himself it would seem, especially among the ladies. Back at the seedling village, Mayflower is slipping away, as an enchantress reveals herself as the leader of the forces attacking our green heroes and heroines. Finishing the job, she and her minions leave behind the once proud village, though now not a single seedling stands among the ruins. As Mayflower passes, what will become of Jade and Glory? And what of Cosmos, Lilly, and the others? Have any survived the horrendous battle? What a fickle woman she is, the Goddess of Fate. |
Chapter Four Somewhere in the world lies a dark castle. Within that castle, a female elf enters the throne room, in which a blonde man with a strange orb awaits. The man turns to the elf as she recounts to him the outcome of a recent battle. The man is Landragon, and the elf is Valene. But what are they planning, and how will it affect the world? Elsewhere, Glory and Jade have made a home and a life in a fishing town called Waterlet. Peaceful as this town may be, the bars still have a way of bringing out the worst in people. A simple game of cards can, when money is involved, raise tempers to the breaking point. Add to that racial prejudice and you may well have an all-out riot. For one half-elf, this was quite the case. However, when Jade stepped in the situation was under control in no time. And now it seems she has a new admirer. Meanwhile, in the Niacan Kingdom's capitol, Ranik has also returned from the recent battle Valene spoke of, only his was there a little late. It seems Ranik and Landragon are in direct opposition to one another, and Landragon has the upper hand. He seeks the chosen, and it seems someone seeks him. Back in Waterlet, Rannos, the half-elf from the bar, visits Jade in an attempt to 'befriend' her, but with no luck. So, when Jade and Glory set off the next morning for he trails them. Five days in, Rannos catches up with Jade, and Jade catches him. After some quick explaining, Rannos joins the sisters on their journey, but the destination is quite unique. What has brought Jade to this seedling tribe, and what troubles do they face? And what of Landragon and his quest for these Daolian Gems? Who are the ?chosen? Ranik is looking for? Will Rannos manage to stay on Jade?s good side? Time tells all, but only if you have the patience to listen. |
Chapter Five Within the throne room of the White Rose Tribe, Jade and party learn of trouble. A war has risen between the seedlings and the high elves. The reasons for this war are unclear, but one thing is for sure: this conflict will alter the face of the wood, and maybe the world, forever. This, however, is a long-term problem. The immediate future holds other challenges for our heroes, and face them Jade shall. Even her sister’s blossoming has become a battle. Elsewhere, a mysterious summoning is taking place in preparation for an equally mysterious mission. Veiled in darkness, they have taken great pains to silently through the shadows of the world, and their strength grows as they move closer to their ultimate goal. However, within the home of Jade’s father, more difficulties arise. A new woman has come to fill the empty seat at the family table, and Jade is none too happy. There seems to be no place for her to find peace in these troubled times. Though rest seems to elude Jade, a ship and her crew have come to port for just that. While the fiery captain of this crew may have problems of her own, but it would seem they weigh more heavily upon another’s shoulders rather than her own. A midnight talk between father and daughter may smooth over a few bumps in the road, but what else lies in wait for the seedling tribe? Who is this blue bombshell and what role does she play in the conflict brewing between the elves and seedlings? What is the purpose of the summoned creature? But most pressing, where will Rannos be sleeping tonight? The future is an open book whose pages are white and bare, but the words will appear in due time. |
